First, our friends Jon and Kyrsten (parents to Zolie, Karydis’ bestest friend) are the main makers of the Golden Mean. Many of you have already seen my pleas for you to vote for them in the Instructables Workshop for the Future contest. For them, it could mean $20,000 in tools. They have not received any other sort of sponsorship (some of the other entrants have) so this could be huge for them. If you follow the link, you will be asked to create a login in order to vote. Quick and painless. Even if you don’t want to vote, please spend some time looking at how they put this together. Really great! Keith built the pumpkin/carriage in Jon’s shop. Consider this a request. Vote, vote, vote.

Second, our cupcakes are being featured in a Make TV episode. You can watch it online now, or see the full version on television (this will be aired on KQED at 8 am tomorrow morinng, if you are up at that hour!). Our friend Paul is interviewed, but our cupcakes can be viewed as well. This is from last years Maker Faire in San Mateo, California. Karydis and Keith were actually featured on the front page of the New York Times for this (seriously, there was a photo of them “below the fold” and the article was featured in the Science section and if you follow the link in the article you can find the photo and also hear an interview with Keith).
