Things I will miss December 14, 2008

As my daughter’s babyhood gives way to toddlerhood, there are things I will miss.

Among the things I think I will miss are phrases, like “that’s mines” (instead of “that’s mine”) and “I four-de-got” (instead of “I forgot”). She prompts me to lift her by saying “I want to pick you up.” She will throw her arms around me and say “love, love, love.” I even like constructions such as “I is tired.” How long can this last? She stopped calling bananas “bananoos” months ago.

I doubt I will miss the pacifier.
