Picking pumpkins November 29, 2008

Riding in the wagon with the selected pumpkins

We’ve made a tradition of going to pick up pumpkins for Halloween on our “due date” (October 29th). It’s a nice thing to do, and has provided a good backdrop for photos. Previously, we have gone to Perry Farms in Fremont (ajacent to Ardenwood Historic Farm). This year, Perry Farm was closed (to give the fields a rest), so we went to the local pumpkin patch on Piedmont Avenue. This was cute, but quite a let down. However, we were able to get our pumpkins, and our photos. I’m sorry I didn’t take photos of the pumpkins, but we carved a word in each one: Vote, For, Change, and left them out until election day. This was done in part because we didn’t get to carving them until after Halloween.
